Mum, my husband and I were all afraid of dentists. We all would avoid appointments and nowadays that means losing your place at dentists. As we all were without a dentist and had not been for some time we joined this dentist. We all registered as NHS eligable as Mum is a pensioner, my husband is on disability benefits and I am his full time carer. We saw a lovely lady dentist and although originally from another EU country so English is not her first language we all understood each other. Mum being deaf and using earing aids struggles with accents but the dentist was very patient and made sure Mum understood before proceeding. Mum over a few sessions was fitted with new false teeth for both bottom and top as her old ones were worn out. My husband and I initially had to have fillings and various other treatment. But now we visit every 3 months for check up and polish as my husband is a type 1 diabetic (insulin dependant). On all occasions we have had fantastic service from all; from the receptionist, dentist and assistant. We find the staff to be most helpful and polite. We now look forward to seeing our dentist especially as we see the same one which means she knows us very well now plus our teeth. We are no longer afraid so much so my husband decided to keep his teeth! Because on our very first visit my husband had requested all his teeth to be removed and he wanted a full set of false teeth all because he was too afraid to have a filling...yes one filling!! But because our dentist is so reassuring, patient and gentle my husband had his filling with no problems and now is OK if he had to have more. Thank you all for such wonderful care.
